Fox Hollow Lesson Programs
At Fox Hollow Farm, our lesson philosophy is simple: combine a structured learning environment with gentle, well-trained lesson horses and certified instructors so that our students can build the confidence and skills necessary to excel in equestrian sports. We not only provide lessons in the saddle, but we also concentrate on building a safe and solid foundation in stable management. We want our students to be great horseman and horsewomen on the ground as well as in the saddle.
Our riding program is designed to teach our students not only to excel in every day riding but also to compete among the best company in the show ring.
Some of our riders may choose to join our show team. Our competitive team has won numerous awards at the local, state and national levels. Check out our Show Team Page for more information and to see our numerous accomplishments.
Whatever your riding goals are we are sure to have a program for you. We offer lessons in Hunt Seat, Jumping and Dressage. All our students will begin in 1/2 hour Private lessons starting on the longe line to develop balance and correct position. After riders can walk, trot and canter with control they may move into a group lesson. Riders must enroll in a minimum of one lesson per week. The student will progress more quickly by adding additional lessons, depending on your schedule and budget.
We teach Monday through Saturday rain* or shine and our students are expected to arrive a minimum of one half hour prior to the lesson to tack horses up and to insure that the rider is able to have a full riding lesson. Students will also be expected to stay for a half hour after lesson to cool down and untack the horse as well as clean up and put away any used lesson tack and equipment.
Lesson tuition is due at the FIRST lesson of each month. If you are unable to make this lesson you should mail your tuition payment. We expect you to provide our instructors with the courtesy of 24 hours notice if you must cancel a lesson. Failure to do so will cause you to forfeit your lesson.
